Sally Niemann

6th, 7th, & 8th Grade

Mrs. Niemann has taught at St. Paul for four years. While at St. Paul, she has taught 1st, 3rd, 4th, & 5th grades. She previously taught in the Leavenworth Public School system (USD 453), and prior to that at St. Patrick Catholic Elementary School, Kansas City, KS. She has a total of 17 years in the classroom, plus 5 years of substitute teaching, as well as 2 years of home-schooling her sons when her family was stationed on Guam. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Highly Qualified Certification K-9), has served as a Mentor Teacher, Teaching Coach, S.I.T. Team member, and SITE Council member. She has worked on district level committees to align curriculum with Common Core and State Standards, and selecting curriculum materials for ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Last year, Mrs. Niemann completed the Colloquy Program of Concordia University. She is a Commissioned Minister of Religion with LCMS, serving as a rostered/called teacher.

About Mrs. Niemann – After being raised in the Catholic Church, she joined St. Paul when she married Mark – a life-long Lutheran. In addition to her sons and daughters-in-love, she has 5 grandsons. Raised in Oklahoma, she has also lived in: California, Texas, Montana, Guam, and Germany (both West Germany and East Germany before the wall was removed). She has traveled to Canada, Spain, France, England, as well as Hawaii and numerous other states.

What do you like to do in your spare time? I enjoy going to the movies, reading, singing, playing trivia or card games, and writing.

What does St. Paul Lutheran mean to you? It is my church and school family. It is a home away from home where I can share my faith with others and praise God for His many blessings.

The best part about following Jesus is… learning how much He loves us and sharing that love with others. Jesus is always teaching me something through the children in my classroom – I can see His love shining in them each day. (John 3:16 “ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”)
